Good EOR service, minor hiccup

I used Papaya Global for Employer of Record services when we expanded into Germany. The setup process for our first employee was fairly smooth, taking about three weeks which was in line with what they quoted. Their platform for managing payroll and expenses felt intuitive enough after a quick walkthrough. The main positive was how they handled all the local tax filings; it saved us a lot of headache. My only real gripe was a small delay in getting a response from customer support about a specific country-specific compliance guide. It wasn't a critical issue, but it took a bit longer than I expected to get clarity. Overall, good value for the compliance peace of mind, but support could be a touch quicker.

Reliable global payroll

I've been using Papaya Global for a while now, probably close to two years for our global payroll. This last month was like all the others – completely seamless. Payments went out on time, multi-currency handled without a hitch. It's consistently reliable, which is why I keep coming back. I've used their Employee Self-Service Portal myself a few times too, and it's always worked fine. They just get the job done right every time.

Payroll consolidation worked well

We just wrapped up our first full payroll cycle using Papaya Global for payroll consolidation across several countries. It worked as advertised. The platform brought everything into one place which was our main goal. Reporting is much cleaner now. No major issues.

Easy contractor payments

I used Papaya Global to pay a few contractors overseas last month and it was pretty easy. I just put in their details and the payment went through without any trouble. It was way less complicated than what I used before. Definitely made things simpler.

Is Papaya Global legit or just another fly-by-night EOR service? Heard some horror stories with other platforms.

K Kate 2 months ago
Papaya Global is definitely legit. Been using them for over a year for our international team and never had an issue. Payroll is always on time, and their support is pretty responsive.

Yeah they're legit. They're a big player in the global payroll space. You can find them in lots of industry reports comparing EOR providers.

Does Papaya Global handle all the local tax stuff in different countries? Like, will I still need local accountants for each place?

S Sam E. 2 months ago
Yes, that's a big part of what they do! They handle local tax filings in the countries they operate in. That's a huge relief compared to trying to figure it out yourself.

They are supposed to. I haven't had to worry about local tax stuff since we started with them. It's built into their service, especially if you're using their EOR.

Anyone know how to actually get a discount for Papaya Global? Like, do they have coupons or something? I'm looking to sign up for a year.

T Tara 1 month ago
They don't really do promo codes you can just type in like for a pizza place. You usually have to talk to their sales team or get a quote. Sometimes they have landing page deals for new customers if you search around.

Thinking about switching to Papaya Global for our small but growing team. We're currently using Remote. Anyone got experience with both? What's the main difference?

N Nina Q. 1 month ago
We used Remote for a bit then switched to Papaya. Papaya feels more robust for the payroll and compliance stuff, especially when you start hiring in more countries. Remote was fine for simpler setups though.

Yeah, I hear Papaya is better once you hit a certain scale. Remote is good for just getting started with international hiring but can get a bit clunky later on from what friends tell me.

How long does it take to actually get Papaya Global set up and running? We need to onboard a few new hires ASAP in different countries.

B Brett W. 1 month ago
It really depends on how complex your setup is and how many countries. For us, with a few employees in 3 countries, it took about 4-6 weeks to get everything fully integrated and compliant. They have an implementation team that helps you through it.

My buddy said his small team was up and running faster, like 3 weeks, but they only had one country to deal with at first. If you have all your info ready it probably speeds things up a lot.
